Anti-EU Propaganda in Georgia: Transformation of Local Actors and Emergence of New Narratives

Through this analytical document, Rights Georgia has sought to analyse the context in which anti-European Union propaganda was disseminated in Georgia in 2022 and to identify the key disinformation narratives about the EU.

1) global challenges related to the spread of disinformation and propaganda;
2) policy responses to these challenges within the European Union and Georgia;
3) the role of propaganda in expanding Russian influence across various countries and the model for this expansion;
4) the structure and dissemination methods of anti-Western disinformation narratives and the EU’s place within Russian propaganda;
5) the role of the war in Ukraine in giving new momentum to anti-Western and anti-European propaganda;
6) the transformation of Russian influence actors and the Georgian government, and the development of new narratives in the context of the anti-Western propaganda war.
