Advocacy Network for Migration Issues (ANMI) to Be Established
26 July, 2021Vladimer Mkervalishvili, Executive Director of Rights Georgia, Project Coordinators Ani Mukhigulashvili and Ana Gudadze, and the representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) held an online meeting with the aim of establishing an advocacy network for migration issues.
During the meeting, representatives of various non-governmental organizations discussed the goals of the network, future plans, and network membership issues.
Following the establishment of an advocacy network on migration issues, selected member organizations will participate in workshops where experiences will be shared. Members will be able to discuss the most pressing issues in the field of migration, agree on areas of cooperation and, consequently, sign a memorandum of understanding.
The goal of the network is to advocate for identified current issues, promote future partnerships and better coordinate activities. Within the network, a meeting with the organizations working on migration issues in Armenia is also planned for future cooperation, sharing experiences and exchange of information.
The network will be established within the project “Establishment of network of NGOs working on migration issues and provision of legal aid and court representation to foreign migrants in Georgia”. The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, under IOM’s EMERGE Project (Georgia.iom.int/EMERGE).
