„Rights Georgia” started the implementation of the project aimed at supporting the activists and Human Rights Defenders in Georgia

On March 1, 2021,  “Rights Georgia” has launched a new project - " Support Human Rights Defenders and Activists at Risk”.

The aim of the project is to provide legal assistance to human rights defenders / activists, to increase their safety and security guarantees and to raise awareness of legal issues that are relevant to their activities.

Many of the activities envisaged by the project are new to the reality of Georgia and cover:

1. To create  and launch a network of human rights defenders and activists throughout the country;
2. Launching of an emergency support and rapid response online platforms and 24/7 Hotline for HRDs and activists;
3. Developing a manual for Georgian HRDs and activists on the issues of their protection, and security (Taking into account national challenges and international standards).

The project is implemented with the financial support of "Protection International".
