Young Leaders from Kakheti Conducted a Human Rights Training for Their Peers

2 October, 2025

On September 27, at the Akhalsopeli Youth Center, young leaders from Kvareli Municipality organized a training for their peers on various human rights topics.

Divided into small groups, the young participants delivered thematic presentations on issues such as women’s rights and the problem of violence against women, children’s rights, civic engagement, as well as human rights in the digital sphere — online bullying and digital freedoms.

In addition to sharing theoretical knowledge, the young leaders demonstrated the skills they had previously acquired during a Training of Trainers coaching session supported by Rights Georgia. Through practical exercises, group discussions, and quizzes, the young trainers actively engaged their peers in the learning process. At the end of the training, they also received feedback from the participants.

The preparation of young leaders as trainers is part of a Rights Georgia initiative aimed at encouraging the civic engagement of young people in the Kakheti region, raising awareness of human rights at the local level, and supporting the implementation of youth initiatives. The initiative is financially supported by the European Union (EU) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN OHCHR).
