Lawyers from LAS and “Rights Georgia” Held a Working Meeting
1 April, 2022Lawyers from State-funded Legal Aid Service and “Rights Georgia”, mandated to represent asylum seekers within the court proceedings and before the relevant administrative bodies, held a working meeting today. The meeting was held at Human Rights House Tbilisi and was also attended by the representative of the UNHCR.
During the meeting, the lawyers discussed legal issues related to the principle of family reunification, and procedural guarantees for persons with specific needs within the court proceedings among other relevant legal topics.
The working meeting was also dedicated to the discussion of various ways to further strengthen the collaboration between the Legal Aid Service and “Rights Georgia”, as both organizations provide free legal aid to persons seeking asylum and international protection.
The working meeting was held in the framework of the UNHCR supported project “Protecting and Empowering Refugees, Asylum Seekers, Humanitarian Status Holders, and Stateless Persons in Georgia” implemented by “Rights Georgia” since 2019.
