A Library Renewal Initiative Carried Out by Youth in Leliani

Active young people from Lagodekhi Municipality successfully implemented a civic initiative aimed at renewing the library collection of the Leliani Adult Education Center.

As part of the initiative, the youth organized a public film screening, where the symbolic entrance fee was the donation of a new book for the library. Through this creative approach, the library managed to collect around 20 books of various genres in just one day. The initiative was implemented with the support of Rights Georgia and the Leliani Adult Education Center. The young participants plan to continue organizing similar book renewal activities on a regular basis.

Encouraging youth-led initiatives is part of Rights Georgia’s broader efforts to promote civic engagement among young people in the Kakheti region and to raise awareness of human rights at the local level. The project is financially supported by the European Union (EU) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN OHCHR).
